The Chelsea defender has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger is still pursuing a deal to sign Chelsea defender David Luiz, according to the Daily Star, although the Brazilian’s wage demands are proving to be an obstacle for the Gunners.
Arsenal were trying to incorporate Luiz into the deal involving Olivier Giroud’s switch to Stamford Bridge, but that now will not happen, with the Frenchman’s move to west London going through as a standalone deal.

The Chelsea centre-back would undoubtedly bring something extra to the Gunners’ defence, and the Daily Star claim that the Blues value the 30-year-old at around £15 million – an absolute snip in the current state of the transfer market.

With under 12 hours remaining until the transfer window slams shut, Arsenal will have to get down to business quickly, if they hope to bring Luiz to the Emirates.
They do at least have the geographical advantage of Chelsea being just five miles across London, so if they can convince the Blues into selling, it shouldn’t prove to be too tricky for them to get a deal for the Brazilian over the line.
