According to The Sun, Arsenal have joined Southampton in the race to sign Nottingham Forest attacker Ben Brereton this summer.
Brereton, 17, was previously on the books with Manchester United and Stoke City before joining Forest in the summer of 2015 at the age of just 15.
The striker has progressed from youth team to first team at the City Ground, and he has hit three goals and two assists in 13 Championship appearances this term.
Tall, strong, quick and comfortable on the ball, Brereton is a centre forward by trade but has recently played out wide under Mark Warburton – and his performances are unsurprisingly attracting interest.
The Sun report that Arsenal have joined the race to sign Brereton, and could lodge a move to sign the striker should Arsene Wenger manage to keep his job this summer.
Wenger has recruited young English players such as defenders Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and Cohen Bramall in recent transfer windows, and landing Brereton would give the Gunners a young attacker to develop over the coming years.

However, it’s added that Southampton are also keen on signing Brereton this summer, with Forest expecting money in the region of around £10million – a similar deal to when Connor Wickham left Ipswich Town for Sunderland in 2011.
Other Premier League clubs are bound to be keen on Brereton, who has impressed in the Championship despite being just 17, and Forest fans may be bracing themselves for his departure, much like Oliver Burke last summer.
