Arsenal are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool target Domagoj Vida, according to reports.
According to a report from the Sun, Arsenal are plotting a £25 million bid for Tottenham and Liverpool target Domagoj Vida, as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his central defensive options.
The Gunners boss has already begun his tenure at the Emirates in earnest, bringing in Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno and Mattéo Guendouzi.
There are still questions marks regarding Arsenal’s defence, though, especially with Laurent Koscielny set to be unavailable until at least Christmas.
And Emery seems to be determined to address that particular weakness.
The Sun claims that the Spaniard is eyeing a £25 million swoop for Vida, but Arsenal will face competition from both Tottenham and Liverpool for his signature.
Turkish publication Aspor claims that Spurs tabled a bid for the Besiktas man last month, whilst the same media outlet also claimed that Liverpool have tabled an offer for the centre-back.
Neither Tottenham or the Reds have bid anywhere near the reported figure that Arsenal are willing to offer, however, so Emery’s side seem to be in pole position to sign the Croatia international this summer.
