Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been ‘far from consistent’ in training under Mikel Arteta, according to the Telegraph.
Maitland-Niles has enjoyed arguably his finest run of form in an Arsenal shirt recently, which has seemingly made the club reconsider his future.
The 22-year-old’s time at the Emirates Stadium appeared to be coming to an end, with the player heavily linked with an exit by Sky, but he now looks set to stay with the Gunners.
Arteta may be hoping that Maitland-Niles’ performances in Arsenal training improve now that he has shown such faith in him though.
The Telegraph claim that the Arsenal prospect has not always trained to the highest of his standards, even recently under Arteta.

Maitland-Niles’ form may have been excellent of late, but his displays behind closed doors have not always convinced.
At the moment that is unlikely to concern Arteta too much, as he is delivering on the pitch for Arsenal.
However, if Maitland-Niles’ form does dip, his performances in training may need to improve to help him back into the team.
