Ainsley Maitland-Niles has had his mind fully changed about leaving Arsenal, the Daily Mirror report.

Wolverhampton Wanderers had been trying to sign the Arsenal youngster, but it appears that they may have missed their chance.

Maitland-Niles is now determined to stay and fight for his place at Arsenal, with the youngster completely unperturbed by the rumours over his future.

The London Evening Standard suggested that Maitland-Niles wanted a move to Wolves last week, but he has now done a u-turn.

Mikel Arteta is also said to be keen to keep Maitland-Niles at Arsenal, which represents quite a turnaround for the 22-year-old.

When Arteta first arrived Maitland-Niles could barely get a look in, but his form in recent months has completely changed the opinion of his manager too.

The Arsenal academy graduate excelled at Wembley in the Community Shield final on Saturday, and the club may now actually offer him a new deal, when they appeared to be so close to selling him.

If Maitland-Niles does stay it seems like the wisest move from Arsenal.

The versatile player has proven his potential and quality lately, and even though the Gunners need to raise funds, letting go of Maitland-Niles would be a seriously questionable move.
