Arsenal have been linked with the Portuguese international.
According to a report from the Daily Star, Arsenal are considering a £20million bid for FC Porto full-back Ricardo Pereira.
The 23-year-old is currently on loan at French club Nice, for whom he has been starring predominantly at right-back, although he can also operate on the opposite flank or as a winger if required.
That versatility, along with his innate talent, marks him out as one to watch and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal firm up their interest given the other options currently available to them.
Hector Bellerin is the undisputed number one right-back at the Gunners but the Daily Star claims Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger sees Pereira as a player who can rival the Spaniard for a starting spot while also being able to solve other potential problems when required.
A £20million move for a player who is excelling in Ligue 1 could be a canny piece of business for Arsenal, although some fans will wonder if it is the best use of their money at this stage of a very promising campaign.
