Speculation surrounding Odsonne Edouard and Arsenal refuses to die down.

The Gunners are among 26 clubs to have been mentioned in connection with the Celtic striker, and have been linked with him repeatedly in recent weeks.

Edouard has endured a frustrating season in Glasgow, with Celtic exiting three cup competitions and falling 23 points behind Rangers in the race for the Scottish Premiership.

He was on the scoresheet this week, however, netting the second for Neil Lennon’s side in a 2-0 win over Hamilton Accies at Celtic Park on Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old was first linked with a move to the Emirates by the Mirror in March 2020, and according to the Guardian the move could now happen this summer.

They claim that Mikel Arteta is planning “a little summer spending”, and that he is “keen to bring in” Edouard as well as Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Edouard’s value has been placed at £35m by the Daily Star, and the player is expected to leave the club before the start of next season.

The likes of Tottenham, West Ham United and Real Madrid are among those who have been credited with an interest in the Frenchman, who has scored 15 goals in just 10 appearances for his country’s under-21 side.

Edouard was brought to Celtic on loan from PSG by Brendan Rodgers in 2017, and made his move permanent the following summer.

He has scored 75 goals in 152 matches for the Scottish champions, winning three Premiership titles in his time at the club.

It appears unlikely that a move will happen during the January window, with the Glasgow Times this week quoting Celtic boss Neil Lennon as saying: “There’s been no bids for him. There’s been no speculation surrounding him this window.

“There’s been no interest in him at all particularly in this window.”
