Arsenal reportedly want to sign Arda Turan from Barcelona.
Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil
According to The Times, Arsenal are lining up a £25million bid to sign Barcelona’s Arda Turan this summer, eyeing him as a replacement for Mesut Ozil.
The Gunners are in crisis right now having not only lost four of their last five Premier League games, but also crashed out of the Champions League following a 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich.
Many expected Arsene Wenger to lose his job at the end of the season after more than 20 years in charge of the Gunners, but he now looks set to stay – and may have two key players to replace.
Both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are entering the final year of their contracts, and it seems that the Gunners are preparing for Ozil’s exit by lining up his replacement.
The Times report that Arsenal want to bring Barcelona’s Arda Turan to the Emirates Stadium, and a £25million bid will be made in the summer in an attempt to lure him to London.
Turan, 30, joined Barcelona in 2015 having starred for Atletico Madrid, and whilst he arrived with a big reputation, he has struggled to win a regular spot in Luis Enrique’s midfield.

With just 13 La Liga starts this season, Turan has again been in and out of the Barcelona team, and he may well decide to leave the Camp Nou this summer in order to play first-team football elsewhere.
Arsenal are now believed to be ready to move for Turan having identified him as the preferred replacement for Ozil, with a £25million bid allegedly in the pipeline.
A skilful playmaker who can also play out wide, Turan has hit 17 goals in 95 caps for Turkey, and could provide Arsenal with real quality in the final third – something they will need should Ozil leave.
