Juventus will offer Adrien Rabiot to Arsenal in an attempt to sweeten a deal to bring Alexandre Lacazette to the Serie A giants, according to Calciomercato.
Considering that the London giants have been heavily linked with a former Paris Saint-Germain star ever since he exploded onto the scene on the other side of the Channel, it felt like only a matter of time before Rabiot became something of a sacrificial lamb in Turin.
Juve would love to sign Lacazette.
But with even Italy’s biggest clubs hit hard by the ongoing financial crisis, the league leaders must think outside the box as they look to fund a deal for a man who set Arsenal back £47 million when he arrived from Lyon three years ago.
And, according to Calciomercato, Juventus are hoping to use Arsenal’s long-standing interest in Rabiot to their advantage.
The 25-year-old has been a man transformed since the re-start, marking a dramatic upturn in form with a stunning individual goal against AC Milan which highlighted his fearsome mix of physical and technical gifts.
But some monstrous displays in the centre of the park are still not enough to save Rabiot’s Juventus career with Maurizio Sarri’s side desperate to lure Lacazette away from the Gunners.
TMW reported back in June that the £25 million-rated enforcer would not accept a £120,000-a-week pay cut to join Arsenal.
Another year without Champions League football meant that the cash-strapped Londoners looked set to miss out.
Though it seems that Arsenal have been offered a golden chance to finally get their mitts on Rabiot – whether he is worth losing Lacazette for, is another matter.
