According to Il Milanista, Arsenal have offered Hakan Çalhanoğlu a contract as his deal with AC Milan is nearing its expiration date.
Chelsea have also offered the 55-cap Turkey international a contract.
However, both Arsenal and Chelsea’s offers are worth less than what AC Milan are proposing to the 27-year-old.
Having paid £21.5 million to sign him, the Italian giants certainly won’t want to lose him for nothing.
Il Milanista claim that AC Milan and Çalhanoğlu can come to a compromise if they offer him €5 million-a-season (£4.3 million-a-season).
The financial details of Arsenal’s offer are not revealed. Il Milanista only state that it is less than AC Milan’s offering.

If Mikel Arteta can bring the German-born Turk to north London, there’s plenty to be excited about.
Çalhanoğlu has impressed this season with seven goals and 11 assists in all competitions for AC Milan.
Additionally, he has also been described as the ‘new’ Mesut Özil in the past by Karlsruhe coaching legend Winfried Schafer.

Goal relay his quotes to BILD, where he said: “Çalhanoğlu is the new Özil. Hakan is an exceptional boy. He has a lot of confidence and courage. He is simply great.”
If the Gunners can’t keep Martin Ødegaard at the Emirates Stadium, Arteta could do much worse than sign Çalhanoğlu.
The former Bayer Leverkusen maestro is a fine technician, and has the top-level experience needed to thrive for Arsenal.
