According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal have now joined the race to sign Nikola Milenković, who is also wanted by Tottenham and Liverpool.

The Italian news outlet states that Fiorentina are ready to let him leave, as his contract expires in 2022 and he is refusing a new deal.

Arsenal are newcomers to this transfer saga, which feels as if it’s seen the entirety of the Premier League linked with Milenković.

According to Sky Germany, Liverpool held talks with the 23-year-old’s agent back in February, as did Manchester United.

Elsewhere, La Nazione wrote that Tottenham had also submitted an approach for the 28-cap Serbia international.

Everton and West Ham have also been mentioned as potential destinations for Milenković.

So, how much would the centre-back cost?

Well, Calciomercato wrote that Fiorentina are hoping to make €30 million (£25.8 million) from selling Milenković.

For an experienced 23-year-old international, who’s made 37 appearances in all competitions this season, that seems like a fair price.

You may be wondering what type of player Fiorentina’s No.4 is, seeing as so many Premier League sides are interested in him.

Well, in terms of a comparison, he has been likened to former Premier League icon Nemanja Vidić.

Football London relay quotes from former Serbia coach Mladen Krstajic, who said he saw a ‘new Vidić’ in Milenković.

If he’s even 50% of the player Vidić was for Manchester United, someone is going to be getting a phenomenal defender this summer.

Keep an eye on this transfer saga, as it seems highly unlikely that the powerful centre-back will still be at Fiorentina next season.
