Arsenal are said to be interested in Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli ahead of the summer transfer window, by Il Resto Del Carlino.
Arsenal are believed to be on the hunt for a partner for Thomas Partey this summer and Locatelli could be their man, according to the reports in Italy.
Unfortunately for the Gunners, landing the 23-year-old looks like it could be extremely difficult.
The Daily Mail have claimed that he is Pep Guardiola’s top midfield target ahead of the summer transfer window.
If City do come in strongly for Locatelli it is difficult to see how Arsenal would compete.
But the links do create some excitement, given his excellent form in Serie A this term.
Locatelli is technically proficient and also possesses strong leadership qualities, having worn the armband for Sassuolo at times this term.
With Arsenal shopping on a limited budget, they may have to offload players before bringing him in.
But the addition of Locatelli could inject some serious quality into their side for next term.
