Arsenal are interested in signing Leicester City midfielder James Maddison, according to Football London.
Rumours circulated on Twitter initially that Arsenal were interested in the England international, who has missed out on going to the European Championships.
And Football London backed up those claims, stating that Maddison was ‘certainly’ a target for the Gunners.
Arsenal are known to be looking for a number 10, but have already missed out on Emiliano Buendia, while a deal for Martin Odegaard looks complicated.
Maddison, therefore, could be a seriously appealing option – although convincing him to join may also be difficult.
Past quotes
Maddison has been labelled ‘outstanding’ by Gareth Southgate before (Leicester Mercury).

He has previously shown an affinity towards Arsenal, and called Bukayo Saka a ‘special talent’ on the Premier League’s Youtube channel.
However, Leicester finished considerably above Arsenal last term, and have European football on offer.
And he would also likely be an expensive purchase, with the Foxes surely keen to keep him.
