Arsenal are said to still be leading the race for Christian Eriksen, by Inter Live.

Arsenal have been linked with the signing of a playmaker in the build up to the January transfer window, and still a number of names continued to be on their wishlist.

Mikel Arteta’s side are believed to have an interest in Eriksen, and the latest reports from Italy actually talk them up as the leading contenders to sign the attacking midfielder, who was described as ‘fantastic’ by Eric Dier (Daily Star).

PSG are ‘cold’ on the idea of bringing in Eriksen, despite the recent arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, which leaves Arsenal out in front in the running for his signature.

Arsenal have actually seen an upturn in their performance levels recently, with the introduction of Emile Smith Rowe into their starting line-up helping them improve.

But it seems that Arteta is still in the market for a number 10, and Eriksen would be a more experienced option.

The Danish international has looked out of sorts for well over a year now, but he has previously been one of the best playmakers in the Premier League.

And if Arsenal could restore him to his very best form then he could turn out to be a very smart addition to their squad.
