The Mail report that Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton are just a handful of sides taking a look at West Brom teenager Reyes Cleary. The 17-year-old made his senior debut this season, after his goals in the Under-23 side.

Starting the season as an U18 player, Cleary scored 13 goals in nine games for the 18’s this season. It saw him break into the 23’s but despite the step up, that goalscoring form has continued – netting seven in 11 PL2 games.

Cleary came on in extra-time against Brighton, which resulted in a 2-1 defeat in the FA Cup for the senior side – clocking up 20 minutes. Little surprise then, that the striker is being linked with some of Europe’s best.

Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle are interested, as are German champions Bayern Munich. Southampton, RedBull Salzburg and Bayer Leverkusen are also keen. Cleary’s stance on his West Brom future is yet unknown.

Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle – or stay, which is best for Cleary?

Cleary is at a club where the pathway into the first team is clear. Steve Bruce is not enormously renowned for bringing in younger players but Cleary’s stats are impossible to ignore. He has to get a chance.

If he can break into West Brom’s side on a regular basis, then he needs to stay at West Brom. Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle would be exciting – but it reduces his first-team chances of game time.

What would be a good move for Cleary, is either joining Salzburg – who are willing to chuck young players into their side no matter what – or Southampton, where plenty of young stars have shined this season.
