According to Goal, the race to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk this month could soon be over, but not for the reasons you may expect.
Indeed, while the winger is wanted by both Chelsea and Arsenal this month, the race for his signature could soon be ended by Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Ukrainian side are ready to pull the plug on any deal that would allow Mudryk to leave this month if their asking price of £88m is not met, with the club more than happy to put negotiations on hold until the summer transfer window.

This would be a big call from Shakhtar.
They have a £62m proposal on the table for Arsenal, and that is massive money for a player who has barely proven himself at the top level.
Let’s not forget, Mudryk has never played more than 20 games in a single season for any club, and he hasn’t kicked a ball in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
The Ukrainian club are playing a dangerous game here. Mudryk is the flavour of the month right now, but he could just as quickly fade away.
In our view, they need to cash in on Mudryk right now in order to capitalise on the hype surrounding him.
However, it’s clear that Darijo Srna and his backroom team have huge faith in this player, and they clearly feel that he will command that £88m transfer fee sooner or later.
Whether or not Arsenal cough up that kind of cash this month remains to be seen, but if they don’t do it soon, they’ll have to wait until the summer to speak about this signing again.
The Gunners’ move for Mudryk is hanging by a thread, and a third bid needs to be submitted in the coming days.
