According to L’Equipe, Monaco have now struck a deal with Reims to sign Arsenal target Axel Disasi this summer.
It’s claimed that Monaco have agreed to pay €14million (£12.6million) plus €3million (£2.7million) in add-ons, with Reims allowing the defender to go.
Talks between the two clubs have allegedly been ongoing for more than a month now, but a deal was reached on Monday as Paul Mitchell lands something of a coup.
Disasi, 22, enjoyed a superb season with Reims, showing that he is not only big and strong with his 6ft 3in frame but also quick and a fine passer.
That skillset unsurprisingly made Disasi a wanted man, and his £15.3million move to Monaco may be a disappointment to Arsenal.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with Disasi for months now, and even on Monday, Goal reported that Disasi was still an Arsenal target at centre back.

The transfer fee involved isn’t a huge one, so some Arsenal fans may now be wondering just why the Gunners have been pipped to Disasi’s signature.
Maybe Mikel Arteta fancies another centre back elsewhere, but finding better value than this deal for Disasi will be a tough ask.
