But Kounde is being valued at £50 million by his current side and apparently may want Champions League football.

David Luiz’s departure leaves room for another defender to sign, and the appeal of Kounde is obvious.
His centre-back partner at Sevilla, Diego Carlos, labelled him as ‘very strong’ in the Daily Mail back in March and since then he has continued to go from strength to strength.
At the age of 22, he is regarded as one of the very best defensive prospects in Europe.
But Arsenal may have to start making contingency plans over not signing him, as any move appears unlikely at the current stage.
