According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are open to offers for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese forward is undoubtedly a top talent. After all, he’s a one-time Golden Boot winner, but over the past 18 months, he’s been slightly off the boil.

Indeed, Aubameyang scored just 10 Premier League goals last season, and at the age of 32, it’s hard to see him kicking on and hitting another gear.

There’s a reason Paul Merson called him ‘frustrating’ last year, and it’s because his performances have dipped.

However, he’s still a dangerous player on his day. After all, Martin Odegaard did call him the ‘fastest player in the team’ last season.

After a year and a half of blowing hot and cold, Arsenal no longer see their captain as indispensable, and they’re now open to offers for him.

Unfortunately, The Telegraph are lead to believe that the Gunners may struggle to shift the attacker due to his mammoth wages.

Aubameyang only signed his new bumper deal last summer, but with the Gunners already looking to cash in, it seems as though giving him that new deal may have been a mistake.

Whether or not Aubameyang departs remains to be seen, but letting your captain go when your club is in dire straits is a bold, and potentially reckless strategy.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we enter the final days of this rollercoaster of a summer window.
