Arsenal have opened talks over signing Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City, the Daily Mail claim.

Arsenal are keen on the playmaker and have now made their first move.

The attacking midfielder is rapidly becoming one of the Gunners’ top targets as they look to improve their squad for next season.

New chief Richard Garlick has just come on board and he is apparently really pushing to do the deal for Buendia.

The Arsenal man wants Buendia to be his first signing, to get his reign off to what he believes would be an excellent start.

The appeal of Buendia for Arsenal is clear, given his huge impact in the Championship with Norwich City this term.

The Argentine scored 15 goals and claimed 17 assists as he helped fired Norwich to promotion.

Buendia, who was called ‘incredible’ yesterday by Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster (Premier League Youtube), also works tirelessly off the ball, and his pressing could fit in well with Mikel Arteta’s preferred system.

Buendia’s last spell in the Premier League was of some concern, as he made little impact as Norwich were relegated.

But he seems an even more refined player now, and there is a feeling that he is ready to make the step up with Arsenal.
