According to Kicker, Arsenal have come forward with a move for Hertha Berlin youngster Omar Rekik.
It’s claimed that a ‘quick change’ may take place, with Arsenal making a request to sign him ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
Rekik, 18, is currently playing with Hertha’s II side in the Regionalliga Nordost, with one goal in six games so far this season.
The Dutchman, who can also play for Tunisia, looks to have a bright future ahead of him, and Arsenal are now pushing to sign him.
He is also the brother of Hertha’s first-team defender Karim Rekik, who also made a move to England as a kid, joining Manchester City in 2011.
The 25-year-old made just three first-team appearances for City, so Omar would be hoping for better fortunes if he did make the move to Arsenal.

Arsenal allegedly plan to put Rekik into their Under-23 team, and there is some appeal to following in Karim’s footsteps by heading to England.
Arsenal are now racing to get a move done, as Mikel Arteta and co appear to be finding a potential star of the future in defence.
