Arsenal want to hand goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale a new contract, according to The Athletic.
The report has claimed that handing a new deal to Ramsdale is on the agenda of Arsenal.
The England international goalkeeper moved to the Gunners from Sheffield United in the summer of 2021.
As reported by The Athletic at the time, the Gunners paid the Blades £24 million in transfer fees for Ramsdale.
The Englishman was initially signed as a back-up to Bernd Leno, but he has established himself as the number one goalkeeper under manager Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
The Athletic have reported that ‘there is an acknowledgement on all sides that he should be rewarded with a salary more in line with a first-choice goalkeeper at a top-six club’.

New Arsenal contract for Aaron Ramsdale
In our view, Arsenal need not rush into handing Aaron Ramsdale a new contract just now.
Maybe the Gunners should finalise a new deal for the 24-year-old at the end of the season.
After all, this is only Ramsdale’s second season at Arsenal.
Things are going well for Arsenal at the moment, and the North London club need to keep their focus on the pitch.
We think that Ramsdale deserves a new contract, but at the same time all parties should acknowledge that he joined only in the summer of 2021.
It is too early to start talking about a new contract for Ramsdale.
