Arsenal have reportedly touched base with representatives of Youri Tielemans ahead of potentially signing the midfielder this summer.

The Gunners are heavily linked with signing the Belgium international from Leicester City this summer.

Earlier in April it was reported that Arsenal were favourites to sign Tielemans [The Sun].

And now Football London has reported an update, with Chris Wheatley writing on Thursday night that the Emirates Stadium outfit have already held meetings with the player’s agent.

The report adds that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes that Tielemans would represent a good addition to his midfield.

Good signing?

In a word, yes.

This is a no-brainer of a transfer for the Gunners.

Having dazzled in the Premier League, we know that he’s good enough for England’s top flight and better yet, he won’t cost a fortune.

Tielemans joined City for £30 million in 2019 but his contract expires next summer, meaning that Arsenal cold potentially pick him up for a cut-price fee this summer.

Bargains might be the order of the day for Arteta and Edu this summer, if they fail to qualify for the Champions League and guarantee themselves a financial windfall, and Tielemans could well prove a bargain of a transfer.

After all, this is a player Pep Guardiola called ‘top, top class‘ only last year and to get him on the cheap would be magical business for Arsenal.
