According to SPORT, Arsenal have made contact with the representatives of Alexander Isak, although Barcelona could throw a spanner in the works.
What’s the story?
Well, Arsenal are very interested in signing the 22-year-old, who has impressed for Real Sociedad since joining from Borussia Dortmund.
However, SPORT believe the Gunners are not so keen on his €80m (£67m) release, and are hoping to negotiate a sum lower than that figure.
Having said that, Arsenal may not even reach the negotiating stage.
SPORT add that Isak wants to join Barcelona, who have shortlisted the £48,000-a-week man as a target if they cannot sign Erling Haaland.
Interestingly, the Sweden international is willing to wait and see if the Blaugrana manage to sign the Norway international before making a decision.
So far this season, Isak has scored eight goals in 28 appearances, while also providing four assists.
Arsenal shouldn’t overpay for Alexander Isak

In our view, Arsenal must be sensible here.
There is no denying the fact that Isak is a sensational talent, who has the potential to become a Ballon d’Or winner someday.
However, Mikel Arteta needs someone who can make an instant impact.
Isak, at the age of 22 and with only eight goals this season, may struggle to hit the ground running in the Premier League.
In our view, a move for someone more experienced – like Inter Milan hotshot Lautaro Martinez – would be more sensible.

The Argentina international is said to be available for £58.5m, and scored 19 goals in all competitions as he won the Serie A title last season.
As you’ve probably worked out, Martinez would be cheaper than Isak, as would a handful of other forwards who boast more experience.
Keep an eye on this saga, as Arsenal seem to be fixated on the signing of Isak.
