Arsenal have reportedly made a £13m offer for Braga forward Pedro Neto.

Arsenal have reportedly made a £13m offer for Braga forward Pedro Neto, according to reports from Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

Neto is a young forward who has progressed through the ranks at Braga.

The 17-year-old made the breakthrough into Abel Ferreira’s first-team squad last season, and has caught the attention of heavy-weight European clubs.

A Bola claims that Premier League club Arsenal and Spanish giants Barcelona are reportedly vying for his signature, with both the clubs looking to add him to their youth ranks.

The report adds that the Gunners have already lodged a formal bid in the region of £13m (€15m). However, the bid has been rejected, with Braga’s chief Antonio Salvador holding out for Neto’s £17.6m (€20m) release fee.

Barcelona have been following the youngster’s development for some time now, but the Catalan giants are yet to make a formal offer.

They are expected to up the ante by submitting a better offer than Arsenal.

His impressive rise has seen him being capped by his country at the under-17 and under-18 level.

The price quoted for the youngster, who is yet unproven, is huge and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal come up with another bid in the coming days.
