Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing the Portuguese ace.

According to a report from Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, Arsenal are lining up a summer swoop for Sporting Lisbon ace Gelson Martins, as the Unai Emery revolution begins to take shape at the Emirates.
The Gunners ended last season in sixth spot in the Premier League table, and were in drastic need of a change, after entering a period of stagnation under Arsene Wenger.

Said change was duly actioned, with Emery taking over from the Frenchman, and Arsenal fans seem to be excited once again at the prospect of a new Premier League campaign for the first time in a very long time.
O Jogo claim that one of the Spaniard’s first point of calls will be to sign Martins.

The major problem for the north London outfit is that the Portugal international has a £52.7 million release clause inserted into his current contract with Sporting.
It has been widely reported that Emery has just a £50 million transfer budget to play with this summer, although that does not take into account any potential outgoings.
Should Arsenal find a way of bringing Martins to the Emirates, though, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for them.
