According to The Express, Arsenal hold a firm interest in Yeremy Pino heading into the January transfer window.

Arsenal were repeatedly linked with a move for Pino in the summer, but ultimately, a deal was never reached.

However, the Gunners are still keen on the young Spaniard, and things could be slightly different this time.

Indeed, plenty has changed since Arsenal last had a look at Pino.

In the summer, Villarreal were riding the crest of a wave, they were coming off the back of a Champions League semi-final, they had Unai Emery as their manager and things were looking bright.

However, now, the Yellow Submarine is something of a sinking ship.

Emery has gone, ditching Villarreal for Aston Villa, they’re ninth in La Liga – some way off where they want to be, and financial issues are once again rearing their head.

Indeed, according to The Sun, Villarreal need to cash in on some of their talent, and for that reason, Pino is available at just £25m, and given that he’s a 20-year-old Spain international, one has to consider that to be a bargain fee.

Arsenal could do much worse than signing Pino at £25m. He fits into their ethos of signing young, hungry and emerging talents, and at this price-point, he wouldn’t break the bank.

Although, the price could be driven up if a bidding war emerges. You won’t be surprised to hear that Unai Emery is keen on a reunion with the winger at Aston Villa.

It seems as though Mykhaylo Mudryk is Arsenal’s top target in terms of a new winger next month, but given that Pino would be significantly cheaper and has more experience playing at the very top level, perhaps bringing the Spaniard to the Emirates is the way to go for Edu and Mikel Arteta.
