The Juventus defender would be a magnificent addition to the Arsenal squad.
Reports emanating from Italy today claim that the Gunners are interested in signing Juve star Daniele Rugani, after having two bids for the centre-back rejected last summer, according to Italian media outlet Transfer Market Web.
The 23-year-old is a wonderfully cool and composed central defender, but has struggled for game-time in Turin, making just 22 Serie A starts during his entire career with the Italian giants.
Daniele Rugani in action for Juventus
That is mostly down to the quality amongst the defensive ranks at Juve, however, and Rugani undoubtedly possesses the class to be a huge asset for Arsenal, should a move come to fruition.
And Transfer Market Web claim that Arsene Wenger is keen to bring the Italy international to the Emirates, although they do make it clear that the Old Lady have little interest in doing business with the Gunners.
Arsenal might be tempted to go all out for Rugani, however, with Per Mertesacker due to retire at the end of this season, and Laurent Koscielny set to turn 32 in September.
Having already lost Leonardo Bonucci this summer though, Juventus will surely do all they can to keep hold of the 23-year-old centre-back.
