CalcioMercato claim Arsenal are one of a handful of clubs to join Newcastle and West Ham in the race to sign Nice talent Amine Gouiri. The Frenchman is in the form of his life, producing 20 goal involvements this season.

Gouiri, 22, has been on fire for Nice – whether it is as a centre-forward, or from the left flank. He has scored 12 goals himself, and laid on eight assists in 34 league and cup appearances. That has caught the eye of English clubs.

CalcioMercato reported earlier this month that West Ham and Newcastle are interested – while a new report from CM says Arsenal, Milan and Sevilla also want the ‘new Karim Benzema‘. He has a contract until 2024.

Arsenal, West Ham, Newcastle – which club is best for Gouiri?

Arsenal desperately need a striker this summer, and possibly two. Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract. A big-name signing is expected – but a Gouiri could be key, if Arsenal also need cover.

At Newcastle, they have Chris Wood and Callum Wilson but the Toon are likely to sign a younger forward to bolster their attacking ranks. Gouiri gives the Toon something different, compared to their current options.

West Ham also require cover for Michail Antonio, especially as they look good to qualify for the Europa League again. Antonio is getting on and West Ham need another option. Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle all need him.
