Bordeaux striker Gaetan Laborde is attracting plenty of interest from the Premier League, with Arsenal now joining Liverpool in the race for his signature.

French publication Foot Mercato claims that while the fact the Reds were keeping tabs on the 23-year-old was known, the Gunners are now hoping to rival their English rivals for Laborde.

Reports from talkSPORT say that the offer from Anfield was going to around £9m for a forward who scored 13 goals in 42 games in all competitions last season.

Laborde is a product of the Bordeaux youth system, but after breaking into the first team in 2014 was sent out on loan over the next two campaigns to Stade Brest 29 and Clermont Foot.

However, in 2016/17 he was given his chance back at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux and caught many eyes with his performances in attack.

Juergen Klopp views Laborde as the ideal signing to boost his squad ahead of a return to Champions League football – something Arsene Wenger cannot offer at the Emirates Stadium.
