Italian outlet CalcioMercato claim Arsenal have joined Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona in the race to sign Spanish side Las Palmas wonderkid Alberto Moleiro – with the teenager starting to earn rave reviews.

Still only 19, Moleiro has already clocked up 53 appearances for the second-tier La Liga side. In that time, he has had a hand in seven goals – three assists in 15 league games this term. He came off the bench on Sunday against Levante.

But given his age, his form and first-team football is attracting some of the world’s biggest clubs. Not just Barcelona and Real Madrid, which might seem the obvious route to go down – from a smaller Spanish club, to one of the biggest.

He is also on the radar of numerous Premier League clubs and the latest to be linked with the talented star is Arsenal. Of course, the Spanish connection at Arsenal, in Mikel Arteta, means Arsenal will keep a close eye on Spanish football.

Indeed, the report from CM claims Arsenal have now joined Liverpool, Manchester City, Madrid and Barcelona in the race. It might be that with Arteta in charge and Arsenal top of the League, the Gunners will prove a tempting move.

Moleiro has a big decision to make on his future – and he will cost a pretty penny. Football Espana claim that he has a release clause in his contract worth £26million – with his current deal due to expire in just over four years’ time.

The player is a huge talent. But his decision must be based on whether he can continue to get first-team game time at those interested. City? Probably not. Real Madrid? The same. But Arsenal, Liverpool or Barcelona would be tempting.

Xavi has shown a faith in youth since returning to the Nou Camp as manager. Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are often giving young players a chance, perhaps not as much as previously. But Arteta and Arsenal would be his best move.
