According to AS, Arsenal are interested in extending Dani Ceballos’s stay at the club beyond the end of the season.
It’s claimed that Ceballos has earned Mikel Arteta’s trust. The Arsenal boss now seems more convinced by Ceballos, and could look to bring him back next season.
Arsenal are interested in another deal with Real Madrid for Ceballos, though given the global pandemic, that would surely be another loan deal.
Ceballos penned a one-year loan deal with no purchase clause last summer. He maybe hasn’t lived up to expectations at the Emirates Stadium, but Arteta now seems willing to make another deal happen.
The 23-year-old has bagged just one goal and two assists in 23 games for Arsenal. Before the pandemic hit, Ceballos was being deployed in a deeper midfield role by Arteta, which appeared to be working.
Ceballos has been putting out mixed messages of late. He recently told Onda Cero that his ultimate goal was to become a Real Madrid regular – starting this summer.

Just days later, The Independent carried quotes from Ceballos stating that he wanted to play in a team where he feels important – something that hasn’t happened at Real Madrid.
Ceballos appears to be keeping his options open, and he could be offered another year at Arsenal if he impresses once the Premier League resumes.
