According to Milan News, Arsenal are interested in signing AC Milan ace Franck Kessie – and are ‘increasingly tempted’ to make a bid.

It’s claimed that Arsenal have retained their interest in Kessie for some time. However, they’re only able to offer around €20million (£18million) for him.

Kessie is back in Milan now, having headed back to Africa during the global pandemic. It’s unclear when the transfer window will actually open, but Arsenal could make their move.

Milan would allegedly be tempted to accept that kind of price, if they could reinvest it in somebody Ralf Rangnick wants – such as Red Bull Salzburg star Dominik Szoboszlai.

Arsenal are clearly in the market for a midfield enforcer, and they have been strongly linked with a big-money move to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

The Gunners could pivot away from Ghanaian ace Partey to Ivorian star Kessie, who would seemingly come at less than half of Partey’s price.

That must be tempting to Mikel Arteta and co right now. The global pandemic will hit Arsenal’s spending plans, and they may have to think of cheaper targets.

Kessie fits the bill, and he’s also three years younger than Partey. He’s aggressive – sometimes to his detriment – and able to get from box to box, but he needs a little more developing than Partey, so Arteta has a tough decision to make.
