Arsenal will have to make an ‘unbelievable offer’ to sign Yves Bissouma from Brighton & Hove Albion, the Athletic say.

Arsenal have been credited with a strong interest in Bissouma ahead of the summer transfer window, with Football London reporting that he wants a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Brighton, though, are said to be ‘relaxed’ over the situation with a source saying that only an ‘unbelievable’ bid would be enough to convince them to sell.

It is thought that the offer would have to be somewhere in the region of £40 million, which could leave Arsenal struggling to afford him.

The Gunners are thought to be operating on a sell to buy basis this summer.

Arsenal don’t have lavish funds to spend, with Mikel Arteta and Edu going to have to work cleverly to raise funds by selling players to bring in their planned additions.

Bissouma could certainly be an appealing option to add to Arsenal’s side, given his technical qualities.

However, at over £40 million, he would become one of their most expensive signings of all time, and in a summer where Arsenal are expected to be prudent, it may make any deal very difficult to complete.
