According to The Athletic, Arsenal have concerns about Dominik Szoboszlai’s age, ball retention and defensive ability.
It’s claimed that Arsenal are weighing up a move for Red Bull Salzburg star Szoboszlai as Mikel Arteta desperately seeks creativity.
Fans have made it clear that they want Szoboszlai signed, but they may be left disappointed given these new claims about their concerns.
Arsenal allegedly wonder whether Szoboszlai can retain possession well enough, and aren’t convinced by his defensive capabilities.
Additionally, Arsenal aren’t sure whether they want to go for Szoboszlai or a more proven creative player, given that the Hungarian is just 20.
Szoboszlai has been superb this season, smashing eight goals and nine assists in 16 appearances across all competitions for Salzburg.

He can play as a number 10 or in from the left flank, and showed his creativity last season by racking up 18 assists for the Austrian side.
Given the defensive ability of players like Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny, Arteta may well need a more free-spirited attacking threat like Szoboszlai to open Arsenal up – even if he isn’t quite as rounded as they would like.
