According to The Telegraph, Arsenal will focus on signing homegrown talents this summer as they look to bolster their squad further under Mikel Arteta.

Interestingly, The Telegraph also reported a similar story about Tottenham earlier this week, claiming that the north London outfit need to add more homegrown players to their squad in order to comply with Premier League registration rules.

Who Arsenal will target is unclear at this moment in time, but they have been linked with a number of English attackers in recent weeks, with the rumours around Ivan Toney and Dominic Calvert-Lewin constantly doing the rounds.

The fact that Arsenal and Spurs will be fishing in the same pond this summer is interesting, but it isn’t necessarily good news for either side, and we could see the two come head to head over a number of players in this upcoming transfer window.

It’s hard to say which club will have the advantage if they’re both negotiating with the same player. On one hand, Spurs have one of the best managers in the world, arguably the best striker in the world and a state of the art stadium. Meanwhile though, Mikel Arteta is building an exciting project around young players at Arsenal, and it looks as though there is a revolution on the horizon at the Emirates.

As ever, Spurs and Arsenal remain two clubs that are most definitely worth keeping an eye on heading into this summer transfer window.
