Atletico Madrid would be open to swapping Arsenal target Thomas Partey for Alexandre Lacazette, the Daily Express report.
Arsenal have been chasing Partey for much of the summer so far, but doing a deal has proven problematic.
Partey has a £45 million valuation though (Telegraph) and, with Arsenal only having limited funds, buying him outright may not be an option.
The Gunners, instead, may have to be creative to bring in Arteta’s first choice midfield target, and it seems that a swap deal is now a real possibility.
The Express say that Diego Simeone is a massive fan of Lacazette, and a trade deal for the French forward would be listened to.
That could appeal to Arsenal, as Lacazette’s starting place in the team is no longer guaranteed after the emergence of Eddie Nketiah.
Lacazette has previously been labelled as ‘very talented’ by Arteta on the Gunners’ official website but his future at the club is now highly uncertain.
And with Arsenal seemingly determined to strengthen in midfield, the swap deal for Partey seems to be one which could suit all parties involved.
