According to Football.London, Arsenal will make Mat Ryan’s loan deal permanent in the summer of 2021.
Ryan joined Arsenal on loan from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window.
It has been reported that the 28-year-old goalkeeper is expected to have his loan deal at the Gunners made permanent.
Good decision from Arsenal?
Bernd Leno is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal at the moment, and that is not going to change anytime soon.
However, manager Mikel Arteta needs a good back-up, and Ryan does fit the bill. The Australia international is very experienced, knows the Premier League inside out, and is relatively young for a goalkeeper.
If Ryan wants to stay at Arsenal beyond the end of the season, then Arsenal should get a deal done.

It would not be easy for the Gunners to find a quality goalkeeper in the summer of 2021 who would be willing to play second fiddle to Leno.
Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Arteta has suggested that if David Luiz continues to play the way he is doing right now, then he could get a new contract when his current deal runs out at the end of the season.
Arteta told Football.London about Luiz: “He’s a presence, he’s a leader and someone that is playing really well at the moment. What I want is that he keeps playing like that until the end of the season and we’ll make that decision together.”
