Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked to the talented winger.
L’Equipe reported on Friday that Arsenal have an advantage over Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus in the race to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.
According to The Mail, the Ligue 1 champions want some £25 million for the winger, who netted 12 times and set up another 14 in all competitions last season.
Tottenham and Juventus have been credited with an interest this week but French publication L’Equipe has reported that the 21-year-old might favour a switch to Arsenal.
Of course, the Gunners, unlike Spurs, cannot offer him Champions League football next season after finishing fifth in the Premier League last term, but the report states that the Frenchman likes how many of his compatriots have flourished under Arsene Wenger in North London down the years.
Wenger, who signed a two-year contract extension after winning the FA Cup last week, has a warchest in excess of £100 million (The Sun) this summer and the promise of an exciting season next term could compensate for the lack of Champions League football.
That being said, things are no less exciting on the white half of the North London divide as Tottenham, armed with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, aim to improve on their second-placed finish under Mauricio Pochettino last season.
