Arsenal reportedly made a move to sign the Chelsea ace.

According to French media outlet Le 10 Sport, Arsenal have had a £17.6 million bid for David Luiz rejected by Chelsea.
Unai Emery has a lot of work to do at the Emirates this summer, if he is to guide his side back into Champions League contention, and he has obviously identified his defence as an area that needs addressing.

The Gunners have already signed Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer, and are close to capturing Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund.
Le 10 Sport claims that Emery is far from finished with his defensive rebuild at Arsenal, however.
The French publication claims that Arsenal submitted a €20 million (£17.6 million) offer to Chelsea for David Luiz – a bid that was subsequently rejected by the Blues.

The Brazil international was ostracised by Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge last season, and he made just 10 Premier League appearances.
A move away from west London appears to be on the cards for Luiz, but Arsenal will have to up their initial offer, if they want to bring the 31-year-old to the Emirates this summer.
