Kia Joorabchian is working on a deal to get Philippe Coutinho to Arsenal, according to the Daily Mirror.

Coutinho is on huge wages at Barcelona which make any deal complicated, but the Mirror insist that a move ‘is not out of the question’.

If Arsenal are to sign the Brazilian they will surely need Barcelona to be willing to pay some of his wages, but that could actually be a possibility.

Coutinho’s list of suitors has dwindled, after two fairly poor seasons since leaving Liverpool for £142 million (Mirror).

Coutinho has not been at his best since departing England, and a return could well appeal.

Arsenal would also benefit if Coutinho’s agent, Joorabchian, was able to arrange a transfer.

Coutinho would bring a huge increase in quality to Arsenal’s side and likely be an immediate starter.

With Mesut Ozil’s future at Mikel Arteta’s side very uncertain, Arsenal are likely to want to find a playmaker, and Coutinho would surely appeal.

During his last spell in the Premier League, Coutinho was one of the best players in the division, and if he could repeat show that sort of form again then he would be a wonderful addition to Arteta’s squad.
