The Arsenal loanee wants to return to the Emirates in the summer, according to reports.

Strikers Alexis Sanchez and Lucas Perez warm up during the Arsenal training session at London Colney on March 6, 2017 in St Albans, England.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal flop Lucas Perez is targeting an incredible return to the Emirates next season, in a bid to revive his career in north London, after joining Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna on a season long loan in the summer of 2017.

The 29-year-old joined Arsenal from Depor in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £17.1 million, but he desperately failed to establish himself with the Gunners, scoring just one Premier League goal for the club.

It could be argued that the Spaniard was never really given the chance by Arsene Wenger to showcase his true worth, having made just two league starts for the north London outfit.

The Evening Standard claims that he has not given up on the prospect of being a success with Arsenal, however.

They report that he is targeting a return to the Emirates at the end of the season, after enduring a tough campaign in Spain with Depor, having scored just five goals in all competitions thus far.

Much will depend on whether Wenger wants to keep him, of course, but with so much competition in the attacking department already at Arsenal, Perez’s hopes of a return seem bleak to say the least.
