One of Arsenal’s highly rated prospects in the youth set-up, Chris Willock, could leave the club as a free agent.

The 19-year-old has a contract at the club till the end of this month, and the Gunners are reportedly in talks with the youngster over a new deal.

His contract situation has put a number of clubs on alert, with Manchester City have reportedly shown interest in signing him.

According to reports from the Evening Standard, City are not alone in the race to sign the exciting winger. The likes of Everton and Celtic are also interested in snapping him up.

Arsene Wenger has spoken highly of him in the past, but when listing the youngsters who could make the step up to the first team next year the Frenchman named Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, rather than Willock.

Arsenal will likely to receive compensation under the Premier League youth rules, if Willock leaves the club on a free transfer.

To be honest, the Gunners cannot provide him enough game time next season, as there are plenty of quality players in his position ahead of him.

The same can be said about Manchester City as well. Therefore, if Willock is indeed looking to get regular opportunities, he should consider a move to either Everton or Celtic this summer.
