Sources close to Dominik Szoboszlai have said that Arsenal fell back in the race to sign him over the summer, Football London claim.

Arsenal have been long term admirers of the Red Bull Salzburg midfielder, who is regarded as one of the top teenaged prospects in Europe.

But it seems that they have work to do if they are to get back into the running to sign the Hungarian.

Arsenal are believed to have fallen behind Napoli in the battle for his signature, although that could all change yet at a later date.

Football London suggest that Arsenal are continuing to keep tabs on the 19-year-old, with their scouts big fans of him.

If Szoboszlai, who is valued at £22 million (Calcio Mercato), was to join, he could complete a rather new-look Arsenal midfield.

The Gunners have strengthened with the addition of Thomas Partey this summer, and if Szoboszlai was brought in over the near future, he would be a similarly exciting recruit.
