AC Milan are reportedly lining up a move to sign Brazilian youngster Danilo, who is also wanted by Arsenal after a breakout year with Palmeiras in his native South America.
According to Goal, the Serie A champions are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old midfielder, with Danilo expected to sign for a European club this summer following an outstanding 12 months with Palmeiras, with Milan now joining the likes of Arsenal in the race for the prospect.
As per the report, Milan are yet to make contact with Danilo over a potential signing, with the Rossoneri currently looking to test the waters with other targets, such as Renato Sanches and Douglas Luiz as the Italian giants look to replace FC Barcelona-bound Franck Kessie.
Whilst Danilo does have a release clause of €100m (£86m), it is reported that Palmeiras will accept an offer in the €25m (£21m) range for the midfielder, a valuation that could tempt both Arsenal and Milan into making a move to sign the 21-year-old this summer.
A versatile player who has been compared to Chelsea superstar N’Golo Kante, Danilo has been one of Palmeiras’ best players over the past two seasons, with the youngster playing a key role in the Brazilian side’s back-to-back Copa Libertadores championships.
Indeed, after such an incredible year, it is no surprise that Danilo is wanted by two of Europe’s biggest sides, and for Arsenal, beating Milan to the signing of the youngster will be yet another incredible coup from Mikel Arteta and Edu, who this summer have made some solid moves.
Arsenal have the capacity to beat Milan to Danilo signing

Arsenal have always had a strong link to Brazil, and this summer will see that relationship improve following the signing of Marquinhos, the pending arrival of Gabriel Jesus and the potential acquisition of Raphinha, and Danilo would be yet another welcome addition.
After all, Arsenal need a central midfielder this summer in the mould of a Granit Xhaka or Thomas Partey, and Danilo’s versatility makes the 21-year-old youngster the perfect option to take this role for the Gunners next season.
