Arsenal and Chelsea are both keen on the 16-year-old Exeter midfielder.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal could end up missing out on Exeter youngster Ethan Ampadu to London rivals Chelsea.
Ampadu has caught the eye for the Grecians this season after making his debut aged just 15 against Brentford in the EFL Cup, breaking a 67-year-old record in the process.
He has since made his debut in League Two for Paul Tisdale’s side, a fact that has not gone unnoticed in the Premier League.
According to Goal, Arsenal were already interested in his services and could look to take advantage of the fact his father is a coach at the club to seal his signature.
However, the Mirror now reports they could end up missing out as Chelsea have moved to take him to Stamford Bridge.
According to the newspaper, Antonio Conte’s side have launched a £2million bid to bring him to the club after he featured against them in the Chekatrade Trophy.
The Blues have a history of signing youngsters from all over Europe and it appears that they have added Ampadu to their list of targets.
Chelsea do not have a strong history of developing talent, though, and perhaps the Gunners could use the fact that they do and their connections with his father to ensure they seal his signature ahead of their rivals.
