According to the Scottish Daily Mail (26/02, back page), Arsenal and Aston Villa are both considering moves for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer.

However, it’s Roma and Leicester City believed to be leading the race for the Frenchman ahead of the summer window.

Roma are prepared to go head-to-head with the Foxes for Edouard, with Brendan Rodgers seeking a reunion with the striker.

Celtic wanted £40million last summer, but a fee closer to £20million may now be needed to sign him when t he summer window opens.

Arsenal are allegedly keen to sign Edouard if they sell either Alexandre Lacazette or Eddie Nketiah this summer, given that the duo are entering the final year of their deals.

Edu will be looking for potential striking additions well in advance of the summer, and Edouard appears to be one of the top targets.

Edouard, 23, has hit 20 goals in 32 games this season, and has recently switched agency; he is now with Kieran Tierney’s representatives.

That could play into Arsenal’s hands as they plot a move for Edouard, but much could depend on Lacazette and Nketiah, whilst Leicester will be desperate to win the race as they seek competition for Jamie Vardy.
