According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are interested in launching a move for Boca Juniors forward Cristian Pavon as they consider life after Alexis Sanchez.
The Gunners – who were dumped out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon – are enduring a difficult spell, and that could be made even worse by losing Sanchez.
The Chilean attacker, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season, and with Arsenal facing losing him for nothing, he could be sold on this month as Manchester City press ahead with their attempts to sign him.

That would leave Arsenal needing a replacement, and the Daily Mail report that they are interested in luring Boca Juniors star Cristian Pavon to North London as Sanchez’s successor.
Pavon, 21, joined Boca from Talleres de Cordoba in 2014, and has impressed with the Argentinian giants, hitting three goals and five assists in 12 games this season.
The winger possesses blistering pace, and with two caps for Argentina, he looks set for a big move to Europe in the near future, with Arsenal now considering a bid.

Pavon is understood to have a £27million release clause in his Boca contract, though some may have some concerns about paying that kind of fee for a player direct from South America.
The report adds that Liverpool – who have just sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona – have also been monitoring Pavon, meaning Jurgen Klopp’s men are lurking over Arsenal’s new top target, and the Gunners will hope to have a deal done quickly if they do follow up their interest.
