Arsenal would expect at least £15 million for Bernd Leno in the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph.
It has been reported that there is a feeling among some at Arsenal that Leno’s time at the Gunners is coming to an end.
The report has added that Arsenal would still expect to sell the Germany international goalkeeper for at least £15 million.
The Athletic has reported that Leno is among the players who want to leave the Gunners this summer.
If Arsenal sell Leno for £15 million, then it would mean a loss of £5 million.
As reported by The Daily Mail, the Gunners paid Bayer Leverkusen £20 million in transfer fees for the 29-year-old back in the summer of 2018.
The 29-year-old – described by Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney as “an outstanding keeper” on Sky Sports in December 2020 – has made some big mistakes this season, but he still remains the first-choice goalkeeper at the North London club.
Mat Ryan is the only genuine competition for Leno, but the Australia international goalkeeper is only on loan from from Brighton and Hove Albion until the end of the season.
Selling Leno would leave a big hole in the Arsenal squad.
It would mean that the Gunners would have to bring in a quality first-choice goalkeeper.
It is going to take much more than £15 million to bring in a world-class or – near world-class – goalkeeper for Arsenal.
