Arsenal and Everton are interested in the French keeper.

According to Le10 Sport, Everton and Arsenal are interested in Saint-Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier.

Everton appear to be exploring other avenues after it was reported by The Liverpool Echo that manager Ronald Koeman was unwilling to meet Sunderland’s £30 million valuation of Jordan Pickford.

Neither Joel Robles or Maarten Stekelenburg inspired a huge deal of confidence between the sticks last season and, according to French outlet Le10 Sport, the Toffees have earmarked the 30-year-old to be their number one next season.

But the report goes on to suggest that Arsenal could also be interested in bringing the former Monaco stopper to North London.

By next week Petr Cech might be the Gunners’ only established goalkeeper amid reports from The Sun that David Ospina is set to follow Wojciech Szczesny – who looks set to join Juventus – out of the door, with Fenerbahce keen on the Colombian goalkeeper.

Cech is 35 and his influence seems to be on the wane. He was fine for the most part last season but Arsenal fans will be quick to note that he does not look like the same player who won four Premier League titles with Chelsea prior to making the move across London.

Ruffier, who made 31 Ligue 1 appearances last term, will not come cheap for either Arsenal or Everton, given that he has another four years left on his existing deal with the French outfit.
